200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training Course In Bali

What is 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training?

This 4-week yoga teacher training will blow your mind! After completing this course, you will understand why each pose is chosen the way it is. You will have an entire library of posts that explain everything about every pose used in this class.

And did we mention there’s no requirement to do any public yoga poses? (Yay!)

There are very few restrictions in terms of posture or balance. In fact, you will be instructed to hold certain positions for a specified amount of time.

The purpose of these adjustments is twofold: first, they strengthen the muscles being held; second, they relax the student's body.

These practices introduce students to different ways of manipulating their bodies with movement. For example, in hanuman straddles top, children stand facing one another, then lean forward until their shoulders contact. Then, they lower themselves to the ground using their hands.

By doing this exercise together, everyone gets to participate and try it. It isn’t scripted to make it more difficult, it just is.

Students who want to move further can keep holding the position but also learn how to manipulate their bodies. There is a lot of opportunity to grow here.

We recommend wearing musculature shoes or athletic boots so your feet aren’t too uncomfortable. The instructor may instruct students to put their legs straight down, which creates maximum comfort.

What will I learn in the 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training?

The course consists of 16 weekends over 2 months, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon for 4 hours duration each day.

There are 5 yoga classes a week, which last 3 hours per class.

More time is spent on theory, both weekly and daily blogs as well as videos about yoga.

An important part of the course is community sharing meal times together with good friends from all around the world.

A very special feature of the course is that after Saturday morning’s lectures, we retire to the beach next door for lunch before returning either directly back to the UK or further afield.

Saturday night drinks followed by dinner out or local food exchange environment create even more opportunities to connect and collaborate within this diverse group.

Sunday mornings include basic breathing and meditation practices along with some physical movement exercises.

The whole process is facilitated by an amazing team who are not only highly experienced teachers but also kind, caring and compassionate individuals. Throughout the entire course there are many ways in which everyone can get involved and take part including weekend workshops, social events, discussions, tours and networking functions.

As a participant you will gain access to a wealth of knowledge shared between our staff members and yourself.

By the end of the course you will know how to teach simple yet effective yoga poses, your personal development goals will have been achieved and you will understand what it means to be a true yogi.

Who is the teacher?

In order to teach yoga, you must be well-versed in asanas (poses), including head nods, knee lifts, spine twists and releases, ankle opens, arm balances, and shoulder shrugs.

You will also need to know how to prepare food, which includes cleanliness, sanitation, and most important – hygiene.

Your teachers can help you get into this habit so it’s not a burden for your trip. There are many ways to keep yourself hydrated, but we recommend water as your number one priority.

Whatever you choose to drink, make sure it is non-caffeinated and that it is purified or filtered. Colas, sugary drinks, and energy drinks should all be discouraged.

What is the experience like?

Anyone can do yoga, it’s just not easy. It takes a lot of practice to achieve proper position, breathing, and relaxation.

In our training we encourage each other to practice meditation techniques, as well as inform everyone about different poses, chants, and traditions behind them.

Each pose has a purpose - to develop your particular strength, balance, flexibility, or endurance. There are hundreds of these together called flows. Finding the right flow for you depends on your goals, age, and individual needs.

You will learn how to combine the poses into a balanced workout. You will also learn how to adjust your practice based on what you want (physical and mental health benefits), when you want them (during exercise), and why you want them (your inner self).

Practicing with this intention goes a long way towards ensuring that you are doing things correctly- we will be very mindful during class. Correct posture, breathing, and balancing points are emphasized, along with good technique.

All levels are welcome, though having some familiarity with yoga helps.

What does it cost?

There are no international fees for students who want to attend our training course. All of the classes are free, as well as all meals. Students only need to pay if they wish to receive an airline ticket or passport.

Everyone is welcome at this level. It doesn’t matter why you’re coming, or how long you have already been practicing yoga. The duration of time you spend learning different poses is not dependent upon your income.

There are no lessons outside of class, so those looking to develop their practice will be invited by members of the staff to come into the studio.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us while you learn the basics of Ashtanga!

When is the class?

The course takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6am-8pm.

There are around 10 classes each week.

The instructor offers special sessions once or twice a month to add extra depth to topics covered during normal classes.

Additional resources are available on the website under “About This Workshop”.

Can I pay online?

Yes! Upon signing up, you will have the option to pay either via credit card or wire transfer.

Is there pushback?

As with any new business idea, you’ll encounter some resistance at first.

You may have doubts, questions or concern about whether it will work out how you want it to.

These are normal feelings, but don't let them take over. Let yourself doubt as much as you want to believe in what you are doing.

It is fine to feel ambivalent, anxious, disappointed or frustrated. Allow yourself to feel all of these things; they are natural for the beginning stages of something.

What matters most is that you be honest with yourself and understand that feeling better takes time. There is no set number of days or weeks you should expect to feel different after trying any method.

Days, weeks, months – it makes no difference. The pain will still be here. You just won’t notice it as much.

That’s because your mind has a way of putting negative thoughts into action. And when you start seeing results, this can turn into confidence. Confidence grows more pleasurable experiences and relationships.

And so does spending money!

Investing in yourself by learning a new skill pays off…in terms of comfort, self-confidence, and efficiency. It also helps you save money!

By being aware of this fact, you can focus on achieving one goal at a time.

What is the background of the teacher?

Although you can learn some things from YouTube, this will not help you with the nuances of Hatha yoga. There are many levels on which to explore your inner self.

Whether it’s yoga for stress relief or as an aid to weight loss, its benefits are manifold. Plus, there’s a large community of yogis online that helps reinforce the practice by providing support along with access to their own practices.

However, only few people actually attend a traditional yoga school where they can develop a stronger connection with the art and science of yoga through classes, guides, gatherings, and other resources.

Cost is another factor. For instance, a month-long program like our 200 Hour Yogic Breathing Series will cost you $200+$40 per class, totaling $240.

What is the style of the teacher?

Although you will be taught many different poses, you will also learn how to adapt them so they are not easy.

You will learn how to translate your understanding of yoga into acts that become habits. On this course you will find out what it takes to own and manage your practice.

Teachers who teach with their heart join because they want to share their experience and knowledge with others; additionally they wish to receive guidance and support from their students.

Students looking for a supportive environment can ask questions in class, bring concerns to their instructor, and even take notes on other people’s classes. This way they can build a strong foundation of skills and information about yoga.

Those wanting to pursue teaching as a career could continue after the program by signing up for workshops related to becoming an author or speech writer. Additional training is available but requires prior professional development.
